The holiday home is located in the beautiful town of Deal which has been referred to as ‘England’s Best Kept Beach Secret’ by Conde Nast Traveller. Our central location is only a 10 minute walk from the town centre, beachfront, pier and train station (with trains from London in 1hr 20 mins).
Eating, Drinking, Shopping
This small town is a big hitter when it comes to amazing restaurants, local produce and independent shops. From friendly beachfront pubs such as The Royal, to upscale dining at The Rose and sea views at Deal Pier Kitchen, you will be spoilt for choice.If you don't fancy cooking, grab fish & chips from Sea View or a takeaway from Hey Hey chinese.
Along with wine bars, galleries, a Saturday farmers market and unique shops, a wander down Deal High Street is a must. Check out the art work at Taylor-Jones & Son or Linden Hall Studio and hunt for antiques at Mileage Vintage and The Village Indoor Market.
The Beach & Things To Do
With the Kent coast being one of the sunniest places in the UK, a walk down the promenade along Deal's pebble beach makes for a perfect day. Don't forget to stop for an ice cream and wander along the pier to see if you can spot any seals! Walmer's free beachfront splash paddling pool (May - Sept) & crazy golf is also great fun for all the family.
Check out Deal Castle or Walmer Castle (English heritage sites), or ride down National Cycle Network route 1 along the beach. For golf fanatics, the Royal Cinque Ports championship course is a 5 minute drive away and kids will love the huge outdoor play area at Betteshanger Park (8 minute drive).
